CLM Quirks

Most things in Country Life Meadows follow clear rules. A few special cases, however, work differently on purpose — for balance, realism, or simply to create interesting moments.

This page explains the most notable of these unique mechanics.

Cucumber Limit

Cucumbers are a fast-growing crop (only 5 minutes) mainly intended for newer players. To keep the game balanced, you can have a maximum of 30 Cucumbers planted at the same time. You earn 1 XP for every 3 Cucumbers you harvest.

I can’t plant 30 Cucumbers!

If you can only plant 25 or 28, it usually means some Cucumbers are still growing on your Farm. Once all currently planted Cucumbers have been harvested, you will be able to plant the full 30 again.

Glass Gem Corn

Glass Gem Corn is a unique crop. Because the quantity is limited, the same seeds appear in both your Barn and the Shop. When you plant them, they are removed from both places.

20 Glass Gem Corn in both your Shop and Barn because it’s the same thing.

How it works

After opening the seed box in your Warehouse and claiming your first 20 seeds, you can start planting.

Each harvest gives you two types of Corn:

  • Regular Glass Gem Corn — appears in both your Barn and Shop (used for planting or crafting Rainbow in a Jar)
  • Unique Glass Gem Corn — appears only in your Barn (used for the Display Stand, after finishing the 2019 Autumn Collection)

The first 7 Unique Glass Gem Corn go toward completing the Collection. After that, extra Unique ones can be used to craft the Glass Gem Corn Display Stand in the Craft Shack.

Multiplication

Glass Gem Corn multiplies with each harvest until it plateaus around 300-320 seeds.

Example progression (starting with 20 seeds and planting everything each time):

  • 1st harvest: ~28
  • 2nd harvest: ~41
  • 3rd harvest: ~67
  • 4th harvest: ~101
  • 5th harvest: ~145
  • 6th harvest: ~201
  • 7th harvest: ~270
  • 8th harvest: ~325 (plateau)

You usually find 1–3 Unique Glass Gem Corn per daily harvest. Getting the first 7 Unique ones typically takes about 3 days if you harvest once per day.

Common Questions

Why does my Barn show 0 Glass Gem Corn?
If you plant all your seeds, they leave the Barn (and Shop). The number you see is shared between both places.

Here, we planted all 20 seeds, so there are no seeds left in the Barn.

What if I sell some seeds?
The remaining seeds will continue to multiply normally when you plant and harvest them again.

I sold all my Glass Gem Corn. Can I get more?
Yes. You can buy them from the Shop → Seeds tab for 2 RC each.

You get a popup warning when you try to sell the Corn. You can buy more for 2 RC.

Crafting reminder:

  • Rainbow in a Jar → uses regular Glass Gem Corn
  • Display Stand → uses Unique Glass Gem Corn

Blue Roses

…but wait CLM, there are no Blue Roses in nature! And you said you won’t add pink sheep, chocolate trees, or other unrealistic things.

That’s true. However, Blue Roses are useful for creating flag designs and other patterns on your farm. So we found a realistic solution, just like florists do in real life.

How to make Blue Roses

  1. Plant White Roses.
  2. Make Natural Blue Pigment in the Spice Shack.
  3. Once the White Roses are fully grown, go to your Barn, click Use next to the Natural Blue Pigment, then click on the roses to dye them.

Warning! Rain will wash the blue dye away and turn them back into White Roses. Be careful when leveling up or using Rain if you want to keep your Blue Roses.
